In about 3000 BC, one of
the world's first civilizations grew up in Egypt, on the
banks of the Nile River. The desert
surrounded this
kingdom and provided many advantages to the people that
lived there.
Ancient Egyptians
used
quarries
to produce the stone
that was used in their building. Everyone in the ancient
world depended on the Nile
River. Their
fields
produced
abundant
crops, providing more
than enough food for all.
