Yutan Elementary School is a facility that is a great source of community pride. The design of the building is both functional and attractive. An excellent learning environment is provided in each wing, named for the seasons of the year. In addition, the gymnasium, the stage, and the music, science, and art rooms provide special areas for active learning and performances. The building offers a warm and bright atmosphere through the use of brick, wood, skylights, and a pleasant color scheme.

Because of location and sound-proofing a variety of activities can occur in the common use areas without disrupting classroom learning. There is a feeling of spaciousness, but all areas are easily accessible to one another. No matter where you are in the building, the out-of-doors can be seen through a window. The gymnasium can be utilized by all Yutan students and all community members for activities. Staff, students, and parents, treat the building with respect and pride.
